Trieste Kelly Dunn is surely having fun with current roles on Golden Boy (CBS) and Banshee(Cinemax). She plays a deputy sheriff on Cinemax’s original dark drama series Banshee and a journalist on CBS’s crime drama Golden Boy. Filmmaker Magazine dubbed Dunn as one of the 25 New Faces of Independent back in 2010 which was complemented by the LA Times label of a “break out star” for her independent films (Wiki).

Filming of Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho prequel, Bate’s Motel, is underway in Vancouver. The casting is solid with recognizable faces in Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Up in The Air), Nestor Carbonell (Lost), Jere Burns (Burn Notice, Justified). Aside from Nestor, Bate’s Motel has another connection to ABC’s Lost in one of it’s Executive Producers, Carlton Cuse. I also recognized Keegan Connor Tracy, who had a recurring role on ABC’s Once Upon a Time which is also filmed and produced in Vancouver. Then there are sure-to-be-rising stars in lead actor Freddie Highmore and Max Thieriot (House at the End of the Street). But it’s not the cult-following or great casting that has people like me who live in Vancouver all excited, it’s the local faces! This includes young Conchita Campbell, Emmalyn Estrada and Brittney Wilson.
