Silicon Valley (HBO) – Season 1 Preview

Mike Judge, creator of Beavis and Butt-head and writer/ director of Office Space (1999), brings ‘Silicon Valley’ to HBO. ‘Silicon Valley’ the sitcom aims to be a humorous take on intelligence, tech life and stereotypes. It’s sure to be an entertaining piece on the small screen and stir polar opinions like HBO’s other piece ‘The Newsroom’. Satire ftw.

“In the high-tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success. A comedy partially inspired by Mike Judge’s own experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the late 1980s.” (HBO)

Femme Feature: Lena Headey for Queen

Lena Headey is a household name as she plays Cersei Lannister on HBO’s uber mega hit Game of Thrones, the TV adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. Her character has as many angles as it does roles: Robert Baratheon’s widow, Joffrey’s mother, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Queen Regent and of course a Lannister. Another memorable mother-role for Headey was as Sarah Connor, John Connor’s mother, in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles the spin-off show to the movie franchise. Headey is reprising her role as Queen Gorgo of Sparta in 300: Rise of an Empire, the prequel to 300 (2007).
